Design and Test of a Crawler-Type Tiger-Nut Combine Harvester

Traditional harvesters of tiger nuts (Cyperus esculentus) face problems including low harvesting efficiency, high loss rate, impurity and labor intensity. To solve these improve the efficiency quality nuts, a crawler-type tiger-nut combine harvester that integrates digging, soil removal, picking, screening, collection was designed. The machinery comprises crawler devices working devices. key were designed through theoretical analysis. Therein, digging hoisting consist digger blades, combined soil-breaking vibrating chains. tuber picking screening device is composed drum, double-deck heterodromous screens, removal blowers, soil-crushing guide rollers. include track assemblies hydraulic driving systems. SolidWorks used to establish virtual prototype model. Combined with simulation using discrete element software, law motion tubers in elevation, processes studied, which verified feasibility design. Finally, manufactured fabricated conduct field tests on nuts. Field test results indicate harvest rate are separately 0.216 ha/h, 98.14%, 3.24%, meet requirements for growers.
